Nineteen high school seniors from across North Dakota were named to the “North Dakota State Fair Graduating Class of 2021.” Applicants had to meet a range of criteria, including the requirement of competing and/or exhibiting at the North Dakota State Fair for a minimum of two years. The graduates were honored in a presentation on Wednesday, July 27, as part of the North Dakota State Fair. From the pool of honorees, six $1000 scholarships were drawn.
Scholarship winners include: Molly Black, Devils Lake; Brianna Fike, Chaseley; Madison Jones, Bowdon; Zachary Lahlum, Marion; Elizabeth Lee, Carrington; Reed Wendel, LaMoure.
Other individuals named to the 2021 Graduating Class but not receiving scholarships include: Beau Retzlaff, Carrington; Lane Underdahl, Makoti; Mariah Braasch, Minot; Eliza Freund, Cando; Lindsey Galbreath, Enderlin; Kaden Korgel, Minot; Laura Muggli, Carson; Karlee Sailer, Golden Valley; Abby Sigvaldsen, Epping; Alanna Pritchard, West Fargo; Lily Obert, Stanley; Amie Kjorsvik, Lakota; Ann Estvold, Michigan.
“The Graduating Class Program honors students that have shown a tremendous commitment to 4-H and/or FFA as well as the North Dakota State Fair,” said Jessica Bullinger, North Dakota State Fair Foundation Director. “We had applicants that had exhibited at the North Dakota State Fair for as many as eleven years,” she added. Bullinger said that while the Foundation works to grow and advance the North Dakota State Fair, it also has a commitment to support North Dakota Youth. “We recognize the value of the life skills, personal growth and work ethic students learn through their projects and participation in competitive opportunities at the North Dakota State Fair.”
